This position will be vital in supporting our Bookkeeping Team in completing their tasks and reaching their goals. The goal of this position is to make the Bookkeeping Team work more smoothly by ensuring that all activities are transparent and efficient. Having previous experience in the field is required. The person must be able to work with confidential or sensitive material.
This position is full-time (40 hrs/week) and up to $40,000 annually plus benefits. Each new team member starts on our team in a 90-day probationary role. Pending the team member is a great fit and the workload is there to support the position, the position will be extended to a permanent offering. As with any position of this type, there is a learning curve and an investment to get the position off the ground, in addition to the client trust that is built. With that in mind, we are looking to add someone who will commit to a long-term role with our organization.

responsibilities
TECHNICAL
Provide support to our Bookkeeping Team to:
- Perform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner.
- Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on a monthly basis.
- Maintain and balance the accounting software in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner.
- Perform all activities related to the A/P function including applying and processing payments.
- Perform all A/R functions including invoicing and recording deposits.
- Prepare financial reports, as needed.
- Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Maintain good records in an organized and accurate manner on behalf of the client.
- Other duties as required to support bookkeeping team goals, projects, and client requests.
Additionally, you will be expected to:
- Gain QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification within 90 days, if you don’t already have it.
- Maintain vigilant online, email, and password data management behaviors.
- Keep any relevant/required certifications or licenses in good standing.
- Maintain confidentiality on behalf of RPS and all clients, past/present/future.

Qualifications

required
- High School diploma
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Expert in Quick Books Online (QBO)
- 3 or more years of relevant experience working in accounting and/or bookkeeping
- Experience with A/P, A/R, and payroll
- Ability to pass a background check
preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP

WORK STRUCTURE
- Due to the nature of our work, most all tasks will be completed in a virtual manner. With that said, travel is not envisioned but could arise on an as needed basis based on availability (post office runs for a client, etc).
- Work is deadline/project driven; therefore, work will fluctuate in intensity throughout the month.
- Expectation of availability is based on current workload, responsibilities, and team agreements.
- Applicant must be agreeable to and able to work with this kind of fluid work structure.
- You can work from anywhere with an internet connection and with a flexible schedule if your responsibilities are met, projects are on track, and client requests are completed.
- We do have team lunches, team outings, networking, and continuing education opportunities that are local to the Augusta, GA area.
- This position will report to the Lead Bookkeeper on our team.
